  • Design: The 7th-generation iPad mini retains the same compact, all-screen design with an 8.3-inch Liquid Retina display as the previous model. It is available in Space Gray, Starlight, Blue, and Purple finishes.
  • Display: It features a Liquid Retina IPS LCD display with a 2266×1488 pixel resolution and P3 wide color. The new model addresses the “jelly scrolling” effect that affected the previous generation by making changes to the display’s hardware.
  • Processor: A major upgrade is the inclusion of the A17 Pro chip, which features a more powerful CPU and GPU for improved performance in graphics-intensive tasks and gaming.
  • Apple Intelligence: The A17 Pro chip makes the iPad mini 7 compatible with Apple Intelligence features.
  • Apple Pencil Support: The device supports the most advanced Apple Pencil Pro, which offers haptic feedback, a barrel roll feature, and Find My capability. It also works with the more affordable Apple Pencil (USB-C).
  • Connectivity: The iPad mini 7 includes faster Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. The USB-C port is also faster, supporting USB 3.1 Gen 2 for data transfers up to 10Gb/s. Cellular models support 5G (Sub-6GHz) networks. The nano-SIM tray has been removed in favor of eSIM.
  • Cameras: Both the front and rear cameras are 12MP. The front-facing Ultra Wide camera supports Center Stage for video calls, while the rear camera can record video in 4K.
  • Storage: The base storage capacity has been doubled, starting at 128GB, with 256GB and 512GB options also available. 
Future iPad mini rumors
While the 7th-generation iPad mini is a relatively recent product, rumors for the next model are already circulating:
